Sights from the CN Tower
Sights from the CN Tower

Do you think it’s a good idea to take someone with a strong fear of heights to the tallest building in Canada? Well here’s the result. This past Wednesday, my family celebrated my father’s 60th birthday and for his birthday gift, we attempted to squash his fear of heights by taking him to the CN Tower for dinner. My mom and I have never been inside the tower, but funny enough, my dad has already been there, done that and absolutely hated it! What can possibly go wrong? Well, for starters, the elevator ride had our ears popped and felt a bit weird going 22kph up, but while that view originally was not the nicest going that high up, you get used to it. Now being at the top, you we were seated at the table and ordered our 3 courses of meal for the night but as for my father, he refused to even sit near a window but spoiler alert, after some time and dinner in your stomach, everyone gets use to the sights and can I just say, WOW! That sight was pretty

The seating area was constantly rotating very slowly, allowing you to take in the sights. Once dinner was over, it was time to head down a level to check out the normal reason tourists come to the CN Tower, and that’s for the lower level picture opportunities where you can even walk on the glass!

Honestly, a little over hyped if you asked me. Nothing too crazy but to be fair, I don’t have any fear for heights but my father would refuse any contact with the glass that was see-through to the ground. The gift shop was the last stop, just to window shop, I won’t lie, I would eat this up if I wasn’t from Canada, since the amount of nice clothing options and “all original maple syrup” would catch me that’s for sure. Overall, it was a great experience and I can officially say while no pun intended my dad’s fear of heights is still on edge, it’s gotten much better, but to return for another dinner? I will have to pass on how much you pay for what you actually get. Amazing sights, great experience and a great way to celebrate a birthday over 1000 feet in the sky.
